Our small business community hit the streets of Kendal town centre with our first ever pop-up shop, for one day only. Featuring over 20 small businesses with an array of handcrafted gifts, the pop-up shop drew in the crowds proving that shopping small really is the best way!
On 2nd August, we joined the highstreet for the first time with our pop-up independent gift shop featuring Heather Anne Home Fragrance, Scalia Creations, Jonny Gios Photography, Dan's Plants and Emily Conroy Ceramics, to name a few.
Sitting amongst established businesses such as Peacocks, Boots and Claire's Accessories, in Kendal, it was clear that this is what town centres across the country are missing - we need more truly independent stores featuring small, independent businesses to create a fantastically unique shopping experience. So, next time you're visiting you're local town, make sure to find the small boutique, independent stores to discover something new and exciting. They are there, often hidden away down alleyways and yards, waiting to be discovered, so you can find things you won't have seen before. Gifts made with love, care and consciousness, something a little different, something for the person who has everything - that's what you find when you shop small.
